Stop Smoking The Gentle Way

Affirmations combined with powerful photos to train your subconscious mind to want to quit smoking. Smoking does not calm your nerves, it makes you more nervous and anxious. Smoking does not help you think better or concentrate – it restricts the blood vessels which is very bad for your brain function. Time to come out of denial, admit the addiction and that the Merchant of Death – the tobacco corporations want you to believe quitting smoking is super difficult and most people fail. Not true …

Hypnotherapy Cds Can Enable you to Swiftly Stop Smoking

If you are trying to quit smoking, you know how difficult it is to break this dangerous addiction. However, it is possible, and half of all adult smokers will succeed in quitting smoking forever. Many smokers have successfully quit smoking cigarettes by replacing them with different, more positive habits without having to suffer through withdrawal symptoms. By far, the most effective, easiest method to stop smoking and accomplish this end is hypnosis.

Hypnotherapy for smoking cessation is one of the most commonly practiced forms of hypnosis. It is often cited as a tool to quit smoking along with strategies such as the use of nicotine gums or patches and other popular means. It helps end the smoking addiction by combating cravings to smoke, keeping you committed to quitting, and promoting stress relief and relaxation so you will not be tempted to smoke.

The smoking addiction has both physiological and psychological components. The physiological addiction is a physical addiction the body acquires for nicotine. This aspect of the addiction causes the physical withdrawal symptoms that make it seem near impossible to stop smoking. However, this is a short, temporary stage in the overall process of quitting the habit, which lasts only between three days and one week. By the end of this period, your body adjusts to regular, nicotine-free functioning. Based on thirty years of experience, I believe that the physical need for nicotine makes up only ten percent of the smoking addiction.

By far, the most challenging part of breaking the smoking addiction is overcoming the psychological addiction, which are the mental and emotional aspects of smoking. I believe this makes up ninety percent of the smoking addiction. When you develop a smoking habit, you develop an unconscious desire to smoke in certain environments, such as before going to bed at night. This is called a conditioned response. Stop smoking self-hypnosis works to eliminate the unconscious associations that cause one to crave cigarettes, thereby eliminating the conditioned response to smoke. Hypnotherapy also helps you stay motivated to give up smoking by reinforcing your beliefs that gave you the desire to break the smoking addiction in the first place.

Smokers get stuck impulsively lighting up and smoking. This is why many people who attempt to stop smoking using nicotine patches or gums alone have such a difficult experience. They soon overcome the physical addiction, but they have no relief or replacement for the ritual of smoking, which has become a mental habit and comforting source of stress relief. Hypnosis techniques eliminate this mental addiction and serve as stress reducers as well. As a relaxation tool, hypnosis helps effectively relieve anxiety and stress so you will lose the desire to smoke cigarettes.

Combined with some powerful NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) techniques, stop smoking self-hypnosis can keep you committed to breaking the habit by training your unconscious mind to focus on the benefits of quitting. Eliminating tobacco benefits you in a great number of ways. Within days of quitting, body parts damaged by smoking begin to heal, damaged nerves re-grow, and your sense of taste and smell improves. Within weeks, blood circulation and lung function improve. Within a year, your risk of heart disease is less than half that of a smoker. Within five to fifteen years, your risk of stroke is the same as a non-smoker. Your risk of dying from lung cancer and numerous other cancer risks have decreased, and your risk of heart disease is the same as someone who has never smoked.

Despite the harmful effects of smoking and the benefits of quitting, some smokers never overcome their habit. For the most part, this is because they’ve never really made a decision to quit. Other smokers are often afraid to experience withdrawal symptoms or let go of the smoking habit. Quitting smoking does not have to be the difficult process that makes so many smokers reluctant to even attempt quitting. Hypnotherapy provides a very simple, natural technique for quitting. Hypnosis is a powerful implement for crushing cravings for cigarettes, building powerful motivation, and promoting relaxation and stress relief to eliminate the psychological aspects of the smoking addiction. Stop smoking hypnosis techniques can be easily learned from specialized self-hypnosis CDs that have been developed after decades of experience using hypnosis, Neuro-VISION video hypnotherapy, and NLP to help people kick the cigarette addiction.Hypnosis CDs make it easy to stop smoking forever because they break the smoking addiction in a process that helps obliterate cravings and any desire to smoke. Whatever your motivation is for breaking the habit, hypnosis makes it easier to focus your mind on these reasons, which makes you feel a powerful urge to quit. Stop smoking hypnosis CDs eliminate the urge to smoke. Although quitting smoking can be an unsuccessful endeavor for some, those who take advantage of self hypnosis CDs have a much greater percentage of success because it makes the process a ’slam-dunk’. Hypnosis is the most effective method for smoke cessation.

Alan B. Densky, CH pioneered the use of video quit smoking aids and received a U.S. Patent on the process. He offers a number of ways to quit smoking cigarettes if you are ready to stop smoking cigarettes now.

The Effectiveness of the So-Called Stop Smoking Pill

Like many men and women, you may have a strong desire to stop smoking. You have heard all of the reports pertaining to how harmful smoking can be to you … and to those around you. However, even with this information, you may not have been able to succeed at kicking your smoking habit thus far. As a result, you may have started to give consideration to using what rather commonly has become known as a stop smoking pill. Through this article, you are provided an overview of this product to assist you in determining whether or not it is the right choice for you when it comes to the issue of your own smoking cessation.
There actually has been a significant amount of hype around the “stop smoking pill” in recent times. Promoters of the product contend that the pill represents an “easy way” for a person to stop smoking. The contention is raised that smoking cessation, kicking the habit, can be a breeze.
Of course, as with so many products associated with stopping smoking that have entered the market with great fanfare, when it comes to the stop smoking pill, a closer examination of the reality of the product reveals something different. The bottom line when it comes to quiting smoking, consideration must be given not only to stopping in the first instance but to staying away from cigarettes into the future. It is one thing to quit and something entirely different all together to stay away from smokes in the future.
When all is said and done, the pill that has been heralded as the easy way to stop smoking really only attacks part of the smoking problem in the first instance. While it is true that nicotine and what many experts term nicotine addiction plays a significant role in what compels an individual to smoke in the first instance, it is not the only factor at play. The reality is that nicotine reliance or even addiction is one of the compulsions that draws an individual to smoking.
Beyond a physiological attraction to or reliance upon nicotine, people smoke for additional reasons that include everything from it being an ingrained habit to the fact that for many individuals smoking serves as a psychological crutch for one reason or another. Simply, the typical person smokes for a combination of reasons.
In the end, the so-called stop smoking pill really only deals with the matter of a person’s reliance or perhaps dependence upon nicotine. The pill simply does not address any other issues that tie people up in a smoking habit. In order to stop smoking successfully in the first instance, and in order to “stay stopped,” it is crucial that all of the factors that caused a person to pick up a pack of cigarettes be addressed through a comprehensive cessation process.
Of course, there have been instances in which the smoking cessation pill has resulted in an individual giving up smoking, there is an ever growing list of men and women who used the pill to “stop smoking” only to take up the habit again with a literal vengeance not long after initially “giving up” cigarettes.
Underlying the reality that the stop smoking pill is not a magical cure to smoking is the fact that people who have such a belief simply do not do all they need to do to end their smoking habit permanently. The unshakable reality is that stopping smoking, breaking the cigarette habit, requires work and effort on your part. You must be willing and able to deal with all of the elements that drew you to cigarettes in the first instance and that caused you to continue smoking even in the face of the facts that it was harmful to your health.

Millions of people all over the world are so addicted to nicotine that they simply think there is no hope to ever stop smoking. But there is more than hope and thousands of people have already experienced the life change of really quitting with our system. The Marketing Hits Formula – Creating Meteoric Successes In Marketing

From time to time the marketing world is taken aback by huge, quick, unpredictable and seemingly inexplicable successes. These hits are products or services, entertainment locales or vacation spots, shopping malls or specialty stores that enjoy puzzling immediate popularity. There are incognitos that become hot celebrities, there are events, festivals or concerts that capture the masses, real estate development projects that evoke huge demand, or styles that become trendy. In nearly all cases, there are also new brands that are immediately adopted by the target population. For example, Harry Potter or The Da Vinci Code, Apple’s iPod and the Blogs, the Hamptons in Long Island New York, Toyota’s Scion brand, the Crest electric toothbrush and many more examples.

There are cases in which the reasons for a product’s success are obvious. The success of Viagra, a product that has solved a serious problem for millions of men worldwide – is hardly surprising. Even the success of vacation resorts in Turkey – that have made accessible once a luxurious vacation style to a new middle class segment, is not a mystery. In contrast, in other cases the success of a specific product, place or person over the competition remains unclear. We have all observed the phenomenon of a packed and trendy caffe surrounded by apparently equally attractive but relatively empty coffee bars.

Research of marketing hits is not a new endeavor. Certain categories have accumulated much knowledge enabling planning and launching of hits with a practical probability of success. In the leisure and entertainment segment, companies such as Disney, Warner, HBO, and others have demonstrated such consistent capabilities in theater, television, music, toys, electronic games, and more. On the whole, secrets are kept closely. Many have tried to crack the formula of marketing hits successes.

Short sweet success

In the last few years, more and more sectors have become as high paced and as changeable as the fashion industry. The importance of hits for the success of companies has risen in sectors such as the following: automobiles, food, grooming, hotels, construction, entertainment electronics, software, and the list goes on. It even includes unexpected categories such as financial services.

Personally, I have begun my work in the marketing hits field in the latter half of the 1990’s. I identified a radical change in consumer behavior and a dramatic rise in a new motivation that I coined “The Fear of Missing Out – FoMO”. In extremely concise terms, FoMO turns consumers into serial seekers and adopters of the new (while inevitably forsaking the not-so-new). As such, one consequence among many is that FoMO nibbles at customers’ loyalty to well-established brands.

Upon realizing that our efforts to preserve customers’ loyalty are, more often than not, futile, I concluded that we were now in need of new tools to deal with a new consumer reality that is here to stay. Therefore, I have developed a comprehensive ‘technology’ of rules and tools for the development, launching and management of profitable, “Short-Term Brands (STB)”. STB are planned short-term successes. During this development process, I conducted an extensive, in depth analysis of over 150 marketing hits in various and diverse categories. In parallel, I studied the accumulated experience in sectors that have learned how to methodically develop and generate such hits. In mid 2004, the results culminated in the “Marketing Hits’ Formula” which is now a part of the STB armory.

The Marketing Hits’ Formula and its implementation method allows for marketing innovation that will be accepted with immediate enthusiasm by target consumers and will spread virally. This formula has two major advantages: First, it is applicable to almost all categories. Second, it does not necessitate enormous marketing and advertising budgets (the most common method of attempting to instigate success within a short time frame).

Success has its Rules

The formula postulates that each marketing hit comprises of the following four elements:

1. Marketing hits are usually not large innovative leaps. The new product or service should be based in as much as 80% on a format that has been successful numerous times in the same category. The format assures familiarity, promises consumer satisfaction and minimizes adaptation efforts on the part of the consumer.

2. The product or service should be innovative by approximately 20%. This 20% provides the new experience, the uniqueness, the additional benefit or any other reason to switch from the current product, or to at least try it. This novelty should uphold the following two rules (3 and 4).

3. The product’s novelty should address one of the “unsatisfiable” or “regenerating” needs (explanation to follow).

4. The product should include an element of “Cool”, “WOW”, and/or a “Twist” that creates a “viral motive”, or in other words, will supply buyers with a good reason to tell other potential buyers about the product.

- COOL means ‘right’, fashionable and utterly current, perhaps even a bit edgy.

- WOW means arousing awe and excitement through an amazing design or by an outstanding and an unexpected level pf performance.

- A TWIST means something unusual in a surprising, intriguing and often amusing manner.

Hits are planned and managed short-lived successes (the duration of ’short’ varies among categories) that are replaced by new hits. It is of utmost importance to realize that hits satisfy two types of human needs not catered for by long-term established brands:

“Unsatisfiable needs” – these are wishes that cannot be realized (not to a full extent), however, human beings will relentlessly attempt to fulfill them, while deceiving themselves that it is possible to do so. Amongst the unsatisfiable are the needs for eternal youth, irresistible sex appeal, grandness, omnipotence, domination, an ever-exciting life, and adventure (without investing the effort, taking the risk or paying the price). It is understandable that brands supporting such fantasies are bound to disappoint eventually and must be replaced by new solutions.

“Regenerating needs” – needs that require ceaselessly new fulfillments. Some of them are regenerating psychological needs, such as the need for attention from the environment, the need to renew oneself, to remain up-to-date, to discover, and to be tempted or seduced. There are also regenerating social needs including the need to signal involvement, belonging and openness.

We put the Marketing Hits’ Formula to practice during the last half of 2004 and since then have gained experience in such diverse categories as pharmaceuticals, cigarettes, food products and TV shows, to name but a few.

VW Golf – A New Hope?

Once again England prepares to face the old foe Germany tonight in Berlin for a friendly game of football that promises to be anything but. It reminded me that at the ripe old age of 41 I am too young to remember our glorious world cup victory that occurred in July 1966 which was 11 months before I entered this world.

I am slightly concerned that unless Fabio Capello can work his magic soon I might not ever see an England world cup victory in my lifetime.

It started me thinking about the historic moments I have witnessed albeit on TV. These include the Berlin Wall coming down, Nelson Mandela’s release, 9/11 and of course Barack Obama’s historic election victory to mention a few. One occasion I do remember vividly was when me and my little school mate Colin spent a sunny day in May 1977 queuing outside the Odeon Cinema in Bristol with what felt like most of the World’s population to see the movie Star Wars.

We waited all day and finally got to see the film just as it was getting dark. I remember thinking as we sat there excitedly waiting for the curtain to open clutching a bag of butterkist popcorn that life couldn’t possibly get any better.

I watched Star Wars on TV the other day and although it doesn’t have all the amazing CGI effects of a modern sci-fi movie the plot of good triumphing over evil is a timeless one.

I must admit though that I did get a bit confused when the Star Wars sequels started to appear and we learned that the first film was actually the fourth episode on so on. I think even the most die-hard fans may have started to question whether the later instalments were made for artistic purposes or providing a pension plan for George Lucas.

Somehow this brings me around to talking about the latest Volkswagen Golf. I think because we were talking about sequels and the 2009 Golf is the continuation of a story that started a long time ago (1974) in a factory far far away (well Germany).

We are now into the sixth evolution of this up market alternative to the likes of the Ford Focus and Vauxhall Astra, and just like “A New Hope” the newcomer has been given something of a makeover for the digital age.

We start with a new ultra-efficient engine, six-speed gearbox and optional touch screen control in the 2 litre TDI model. You’ll also find computer-controlled suspension and cruise control that cleverly scans the road ahead for slower traffic and maintains a safe distance accordingly.

In stark contrast with the original Golf which only came equipped with a cigarette lighter, the latest model might as well have come from another galaxy.

Its styling is not as striking as a lot of new models and from a distance you would be hard-pushed to distinguish the old Golf from the new one. There is now a crease running along the flank of the car, and a new front grille, though these changes are hardly radical.

It’s a slightly different story on the inside however. The Golf has a revised interior, which gets more equipment, new-look materials and more luxurious seats. Most striking is the new instrument cluster, which has aluminium-trimmed black dials with white, backlit lettering, while the steering wheel is given extra functionality with new buttons to control the sound system and trip computer.

Volkswagen has worked hard to reduce the engine’s fuel consumption and emissions. The 138bhp 2 litre TDI returns almost 58mpg while CO2 emissions are cut from 159g/km to 129g/km.

Fortunately, performance is not sacrificed in this quest for efficiency. The 2 litre TDI is powerful and never feels short of pace, particularly when overtaking. This is helped by the automated Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG) optional in place of the six-speed manual gearbox. It provides smooth, instant gear changes via steering-wheel-mounted paddles, allowing fully automatic shifting.

The new Golf has a similar chassis to that of the previous model but feels more solid on the road due to Adaptive Chassis Control which automatically optimises suspension damping and insulates the occupants from harsh road surfaces.

You’ll also find extra safety equipment aboard the new Golf, including knee airbags for the driver. There is also a new head-restraint system designed to reduce whiplash injuries, and further reassurance comes with the latest electronic stability program.

Only time will tell if this episode of the Golf will feature in automotive mythology in years to come.

Will paper money be phased out by electronic currency?

It’s hard for me to believe that paper money will someday be replaced by electronic currency. Paper money and coins have existed for centuries, so it’s hard to believe that digital cash will take over. Or is it?

Here are a few facts to consider:

1) There’s a much larger amount of electronic wealth than paper money. Let me explain this by looking at two aspects of banking:

a) Banks are not required to maintain large cash reserves in relation to their total deposits. Their cash reserves are normally less than 20% of their total liquid assets. Therefore, if you deposit $1,000.00 into a bank account, the bank would be obligated to keep no more than $200.00 in cash. So where does the rest go? Into investments, loans, etc. – banks make their money by lending it. If they didn’t lend it back out, they’d never make any profit. This non-cash 80% or more of your money is effectively transformed into electronic funds and it may never have any physical life if you use payroll direct deposit.

b) Credit cards, lines of credit, etc. represent a form of electronic currency which rarely are converted into cash. In fact, I’ve seen one argument that says that we effectively create currency, in the form of credit, whenever we use one of these debt instruments.

The conclusion that I am drawing here is that much of today’s money is already electronic.

2) There are more and more ways to pay electronically. Credit card purchases are a form of electronic currency that have existed for years. More and more businesses allow the use of debit cards (i.e. electronic payment using some form of deposit). Businesses use electronic funds transfer. Wire transfers are electronic. Finally, consider the growing financial mammoth that is PayPal: it’s not just for eBay! You can use PayPal to send and receive money from almost anyone.

Conclusion: it’s becoming increasingly easy to pay electronically.

3) The final frontier for elimination of paper money would be the remaining forms of cash payment. This includes things like: small businesses, particularly restaurants; pocket money e.g. allowances; underground or unregulated economy (think of yard sales); and charities. Many of these types of commerce are increasingly able to accept electronic payment.

Conclusion: electronic currency continues to preliforate into new channels.

4) However, the last bastion of a cash economy may be the most ubiquitous: the vending machine. Many, many items are now available by vending machine: soft drinks; potato chips and other snacks; toiletries; cigarettes; lottery tickets; toys; and other items that might not be mentioned in polite company. It’s hard to say, but the vast majority of vending machines are cash-only: either coins or paper money. This could take generations to phase out unless the markets or the governments force the change. Many vending machines lack the necessary electronic circuitry to eliminate the use of paper money or coins. This is a significant investment to replace. We would also need some form of cheap, easily produced payment card, plus the payment receiver and processor, to eliminate the paper. But there’s no doubt that it could be done.

It’s becoming increasingly likely that paper money will be completely replaced by electronic commerce. If there’s a will, there’s definitely a way.
